Special Pennsylvania ACT 48 Classes

PENNSYLVANIA TEACHERS: The Amish Experience is Act 48 approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Continuing education credits are available in the Amish History and Culture Series, a multi-day workshop offered in collaboration with the Heritage Center Museum of Lancaster County. Pennsylvania teachers can sign up for a single day or save money when they sign up for the series. The full-day workshops are usually held in August; and include time with an Amish one-room schoolteacher, a visit to an Amish dairy farm, lectures, and interaction with community members.

We recommend any teacher expanding the Amish Trails field trip with a special 90-minute tour and hands-on activity at the Heritage Center Museum (Amish arts) or Lancaster Quilt & Textile Museum (Amish quilts).

For more information on the student museum programs and Act 48 classes for teachers, contact the Heritage Center at 717-299-6440 or www.lancasterheritage.com
