What Teachers Say

An Amish Farmer Bailing HayThis is a teacher’s dream --- easily arranged and executed. -St. Augustine School

This was by far the best tour I’ve experienced since I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years. Overall, we were impressed by all the staff, especially our guide, who was so knowledgeable and excellent a tour guide. We’re looking forward to coming next year! -Bridgewater Middle School

It was a wonderful experience and exceeded my expectations. We enjoyed the tour of the Amish Country. The experiential theater was great. Everything ran very smoothly. The tour guide was terrific. The study guide was very helpful in preparing the students for the trip. Follow-up activities were very good, also. The whole day was very well run. It was a pleasure to take our classes to the Amish Experience! -St. Pious School

In all respects, tour was excellent. Very comprehensive, highly educational, high interest and fast-paced. Fantastic! Guide was excellent. Patient, friendly, and exceptionally knowledgeable about Amish culture. Great with our middle school teenagers. (No easy feat!) -Mid-Atlantic Receptive Services

Examining an Amish BuggyI wanted to personally thank you and your staff at the Amish Experience for being so accommodating yesterday. I realize that our arrival 30 minutes late would have thrown most venues into a tailspin, but your team reacted with a back-up plan that was superb. At no time did we feel rushed or that we had missed anything. Our guide for the homestead and farm tours was sensational. He was informative, entertaining, and most importantly, he knew how to engage both adults and children in his discussion. I've visited Lancaster several times and was truly amazed by everything I didn't know. The breadth of information shared with us, from details about dress and family dynamics to the historical account of the development of the community, was astounding. The film "Jacob's Choice" was also enlightening. Thank-you again for a memorable visit. -S.M. (elementary school teacher)

Exceeded our expectations. Guide did a terrific job --- it couldn’t have been better. She was courteous, friendly, and the tour was very appropriate for the group. -Eagle Hill Middle School

The tour allowed the students to see first-hand the way of living of the Amish people. The guide was very informative and the students were attentive and amazed by the entire experience. -Sampit Elementary School

It was an excellent tour. We would recommend this tour to other 5th grade teachers. Our guide was wonderful and so full of knowledge about the Amish culture. -Beach Elementary

Amish Children and Their ColtThe tour exceeded our expectations in that we were able to experience a real working farm firsthand, not a “simulated” re-creation. We were made to feel right at home at every place we visited. -Girl Scouts

Exposure to culture is very important for teaching and creating tolerance and diversity. -Benedict College U.B.P.

Enriching, educational, enjoyable. -Scotts Middle School

Very, very interesting and educational. This was an awesome experience and our tour guide was very, very friendly and well-versed in the Amish lifestyle. -Saint Jude

We felt immersed in the Amish culture in the brief time we had. The guides were so knowledgeable. The time was well spent and the Amish Experience helped us to develop a much better understanding of Amish beliefs and lifestyle. The guide had a beautiful outlook and conveyed some very important truths about life. It was a “wonderful good” day. Thank-you! -Salem Elementary

That movie “Jacob’s Choice” is very informative and moving. Bravo on that! Our guide chose very appropriate elementary-level topics. -Stars Home School Co-Op

The tour guide was excellent, the students enjoyed the “Jacob’s Choice” presentation, and the tour guide was fun and educational. I plan to bring 40-45 students next year. You all do an excellent job. This trip is the highlight of my 8th grade German program. -Bridgewater Middle School

Thank you so much for the wonderful time we had watching the movie “Jacob’s Choice.” We really enjoyed the special effects, such as the cannon, the bell, and the ghosts of the past. The movie taught us many things we never knew about the Amish before. -Mountville (PA) Elementary, 5th graders
