Amish Visit-in-Person

HomeRotator_KidsCowsBarnHome, Farm and School – The only designated Heritage Tour in Lancaster County and a tour your students will long remember!

Our widely acclaimed retail version of the VIP Tour is limited to 14 students on a small mini-coach. Requests for a group version led to this popular variation, affording the opportunity to meet and talk one-on-one with three different members of the Amish community… truly a very special experience available only through us.

A certified Amish Country Tour guide steps onto your bus to lead your students on this adventure to another culture.

Visiting an Amish farm 008Stop #1: On the Farm

An Amish dairy farmer’s presentation is always a highlight, as we visit an authentic, working Amish family farm. Discover how an Amish farm operates without electricity and be surprised to learn Amish cows aren’t milked by hand!

Stop #2: At Home

This exclusive in home presentation provides students the unique opportunity to meet and interact with one of our Amish friends. Your Amish host will entertain any and all questions students may have about Amish life.

Stop #3: Cottage Industry

Many of the Amish in Lancaster make their living doing something other than farming.  Rather than working off-site in a factory setting, many of these Amish people run their own small businesses right out of their homestead.  “Cottage Industries” are thriving in Lancaster County.  Visit one of these Amish entrepreneurs to learn how they make their product, how they got into it, what kind of technology they use (and what they don’t use.)

Stop #4: Amish Dinner at Plain & Fancy Restaurant  (optional)

After meeting the Amish, we suggest you enjoy a traditional family-style Amish Feast, featuring local specialties. The menu includes three meats, sides, desserts, and beverages.  The pricing is all-inclusive, meaning tax, tip, etc. is all built in.

Allow 4 hours.
